Crickets and Rotten Tomatoes. . .

Tue Jun 18, 2013, 10:03 AM
I am sure we have all heard the cliche about a stage performance that is so bad that nothing can be heard from the audience but the sounds of crickets. Right now the crickets are the only thing being heard concerning the blatant discrimination against Conservative Groups 1st Amendment Rights by the IRS and EVERY SINGLE CITIZENS 4th Amendment Right(1) through PRISM and whatever other programs are being used. Right now there is nothing but crickets being heard over this. There is another cliche about bad stage performances; throwing rotten tomatoes and other fruits and vegetables at the lousy performers and nobody is doing that to the IRS, NSA, and whoever else is 'performing badly'.

"But the press is actually doing their job, including the news outlets you don't like, and are reporting these stories," you may be thinking.

I am not talking about the main stream media in this case. I'm talking about groups who are 'professional protestors'. One would think any group, whether one agrees with them or not, would be marching and protesting in the streets over these blatant crimes against the US Constitution and People's Basic Rights. Instead there is nothing but crickets coming them.

The groups I am writing about include every single well known group I can think of. From those I support like the Tea Party, Pro-Life, and NRA to those I do not agree with like Occupy Wall Street, Pro-Choice, and NOW. Do these organization not realize that when Snowden let everyone the in US know that the government was illegally gathering phone records and whatnot that they ARE ALSO INCLUDED as the people whose 1st Amendment(mainly conservative groups) and 4th Amendment Rights were so blatantly ignored by the government?

Does not the NRA realize that their ability to speak out in defense the 2nd Amendment is because of the 1st Amendment? Does the Pro-Choice groups think they are somehow immune to all of these abuses? Well guess again! If the government is doing something this blatantly wrong and illegal to the side they disagree with then sooner or later the government WILL DO THE SAME TO THEM!

I know we are supposed to guard our own Rights yet hearing nothing but crickets from those who claim to be the protectors of all our rights by proxy with their groups and organizations is disheartening and frankly scary. If there was ever a time to march on 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue, its now. However those who are experts at doing such things do not seem too concerned from some reason. At the least their tunnel vision about what they normally stand for prevents them thinking about what is really happening with the IRS and PRISM. At the worst they stupidly believe this has nothing to do with them and hence the crickets.

And if the Professional Protestors will not doing anything about this, then what about the rest of us? Will we remain silent as the crickets continue to play as our Rights are being abused and eroded or will we start looking at the rotten tomatoes and start reaching for them and finally speak up?(2)

(1) - The 4th Amendment literally states - "The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no Warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by Oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized." Note the word 'Unreasonable' and ask yourself how the government collecting information with PRISM is 'Reasonable'.
(2) - I am not advocating violence. Rotten Tomato is symbolic of speaking out against the abuses against the 1st and 4th Amendment in a loud and LEGAL manner.

And yes I am very surprised that there are no more protests. I guess both the tea party and the Occupy movement are tired since they seemed to go nowhere.

With PRISM I got a very bad theory - Because of people stupidly giving up their privacy on the Internet via Facebook and other 'Social Sites', they are basically dumbed down concerning their 4th Amendment Rights and privacy. They either don't know or don't care that a warrant is required for the kind of invasion PRISM does.

Sadly this was an actual arguement for PRISM that I heard. When I complaned that I don't want to treated as a terrorist a guy responded, "So? Don't act like one." Moron.
Um this is a social site itself when you think about it.

Um the IRS also went after applicants with "Progressive" and "Occupy" among others
Funny how someone keeping an eye on this can ignore this huh?

All the more reason to shut down the IRS. I still don't understand how or when they got the power to hold the 1st Amendment over people's head like that!

I don't know either... or rather I do have a theory but it might be very controversial.

I am really dissapointed at the lack of protests. When there was little to protest, both the Tea Party and Occupy were up in arms; but now that there is everything to protest, no one is saying anything. There is plenty of reason to be taking to the streets with torches and pitchforks: indefinite detention, kill lists, Benghazi, the IRS scandal, the AP phone seizures, the NSA and Prism. Why is no one taking to the streets? The Turks are setting the streets on fire over the government selling public parks to corporate cronies. Where are the riots over here? We have so much to riot over.

You can riot if you want, I prefer 'peacefully assembling'.

True. Though it's hard to be "peacful" and not "angry" over all of this.
